Location: Hamble
To support the ongoing expansion of product ranges and increased automation within the Silicone Business Unit in SP3 & SP4, we are now looking to recruit additional Technical Operators on our 24/7 Fixed Days and Nights shifts.

The purpose of this role is: To ensure the effective setting and ongoing operation of all manufacturing systems utilised in the production of contact lenses.
The main responsibilities of this role include:
• Maximising the performance of all equipment relating to the contact lens manufacturing process, in accordance with related procedures, and health and safety guidelines.
• Conducting quality control checks and timely review of production statistics to ensure product compliance throughout the process.
• Monitoring and adjusting equipment and process conditions to ensure that ‘right first time’ quality is achieved, and non-conformities are reported.
• Identification and recovery of fault situations on all processing equipment and supporting devices.
• Setting of process equipment to meet product requirements.
• Coordinating product changeovers to minimise downtime whilst maintaining strict batch segregation.
• Performing Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and cleaning routines.
• Providing training and guidance for other team members when required.
• Actively involved in, and promoting, an environment of continuous improvement and teamwork at all times.
• Liaise with Production Engineering, Maintenance and other support departments to form effective communication and working practices.
• To perform all duties and responsibilities required of the Production Operator role as and when required.
• Using information technology as required for the role.
Knowledge, Education, Experience & Skills required:
• Prior experience of working in a Technical role and/or relevant Technical Qualifications.
• At least one year’s experience of working in a high volume results driven manufacturing environment.
• Good fault-finding / problem solving skills.
• Initiative – to be able to proactively identify and action improvements.
• Strong communication skills and good organisational skills for support and effective interaction across departments.
• High degree of Verbal, Numerical and Mechanical reasoning ability.
• Experience in the use of handling tools.
• Computer literate with good IT skills.
• Good knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety procedures.
